JERUSALEM -On Friday, January 16th, a special festival was organized in the German Colony neighborhood of Jerusalem to benefit communities in the south of Israel which are currently under attack from Palestinian terrorists in Gaza. The festival featured a variety of artists and vendors, including the paintings of Rosie Weisel, who lives on Kibbutz Saad near the town of Sderot, and live music from the band Ethnica, whose moving melodies were clearly enjoyed by the crowd of shoppers who had turned out to show their support for Israeli communities under siege by the rocket attacks. The cloudy skies didn’t seem to deter anyone from coming out to do some shopping, enjoy the music and make a peaceful, positive statement that somehow a way must be found to end the violence in southern Israel.

Various artists turned out to sell their wares and show their support for the people of southern Israel.

The band Ethnica describe themselves on their website as " ... a fun oriented seven piece band that blends rock pulses with the trance like atmosphere of the Kanoon, Darbuka and the Jumbush."

While the overall mood of the festival was positive and lively, this display made clear the gravity of the situation that the people of Sderot are facing and the terror they live with every day.
