"This poem also appeared in the journal Poetica."

The angel touches the child on the upper lip just as it is born

During kolnidre

my lips

remember

the resolution

of past notes

so clearly that

I almost

hear one

charting

lessons,

of history

flying borders

in new beats

and broken time.
