The Situation

When she goes to meet her brothers and sisters

they’ll run in the road

after the sun

setting, leaving

one hundred tin houses

the dust rising.

 

Years ago, where young people danced

a man came hating

and blew himself up.

 

I want to speak of our pain.

 

Same day, a woman with no teeth handed me a peach

I bit into it

but could not bear the ripeness.
