Locus 9/11

From the Jersey cliffs

I glance eastward

toward the metropolis.

Television news replays

the “high concept, low tech” attacks

like a carousel in a horror flick.

Old World sorrows superimpose

on the smoking skyline.

Bubbe thought  we’d be safe here.
