Sacred Moment

-Elvis Alves

March 1, 2011

Simple silence awakens

a truth inside that expels

willingness contrary

to self

Cries of pain cease and turn

into joy and behold

the sacred becomes me

No longer afraid to venture

into the world

taking hold of its whims

passion of courage mixed

with curiosity cause

frailty to become bulwark

As fortress protects the embryo’s

mind from illusion causing

truth to reborn anew

in this sacred moment

True color of human nature becomes

visible

and blindness freezes into

light extending beyond the finite

and reason gives up to faith

Finally there is more than

this life beyond what

is perceived

In this sacred moment

A hand reaches out and snatches another

leading it to the un-utterable

speechlessness

silence

The norm reverses itself and once

again noise is heard

and life begins anew

it is the cry of a babe

sacred indeed
